It is possible to speed up the epoc emulator I found this article while trying to find information on debugging symbian applications.
Also in a forum post 'Nokia_Archive' said:
"Find the file called PHONET.DLL and rename it to PHONET.DLL.IGNORE. That cuts start-up time from 2 mins to 20 secs for me."
